MARCH:
Saturday 3/11 10:30AM Local historian Alan Earls will deliver a unique two part program on Saturday March 11th at the Franklin Historical Museum. Earls will first discuss the arrival of the Irish in Franklin in the 19th Century – why they came, how they made Franklin home and the challenges they faced. He will then introduce Mr. Dooley – an “Irishman” who became the public face of the Irish in America. It was Dooley and his popularity as a political commentator that had much to do with the growing acceptance and appreciation of the Irish across the United States.
Sunday 3/19 1:15PM Joe Landry’s Trip down memory lane. A look at downtown Franklin in the 50’s and 60’s with a presentation of slides and videos. Join us for this presentation and reminisce with friends about the Franklin we all remember.

APRIL:
In April the Franklin Historical Museum will feature an exhibit of Vintage Sports Photos from Franklin’s athletic sports teams. We’ve reached deep into our archives to find photos ranging from the late 1800s through the 1950s of Football, Basketball and Baseball teams from FHS, Dean College and League play. Residents are asked to look through your own collection of photos and let us know if you have anything that might enhance our exhibit. We’re looking for team and individual photos of Franklin’s athletic past. Please contact or visit and contact us through our Facebook page.
Thursday April 27th – Franklin Library Genealogy Club meeting at the museum with guest speaker Evan Thornberry, Tracking your Genealogy. Meeting starts at 6:30PM
